Iceland remains consistent with the national selection of representative songs, but it is likely that it will be difficult to find winning material as it was in 2020. and 2021.
This year Iceland is represented by Diljá with the song Power. A classic pop song without any charisma, unmemorable, and boring. I don’t like the song and think this style of song has become a thing of the past and should not be sent to Eurovision anymore.
The beginning of the song is not so bad, but then comes the chorus, which is weak and with cliché lyrics. Despite Iceland being in the weaker semi-final group, I don’t think they have a chance to make it to the final because I don’t think this song will attract the crowd.
Although I didn’t think it would happen, last year’s Icelandic song was a million times better choice than this year’s, so better luck next year. My rating for the song Power is 3.5/10.
