The song that certainly caused a big storm among Eurovision fans is Unicorn performed by Noa Kirel. When I first heard it, I didn’t have a clear opinion about it, but my first impression was that this is a cleverly designed mix of several songs combined into one song.
There were already songs like this, but they weren’t under so much attention. The title of the song is very attention-grabbing and is a perfect reflection of what we hear, a unique song. The chorus is certainly my favorite part of the song, it has a beautiful melody. I especially like that classical sound in the background, lots of violins, like a movie effect.
There are a lot of interesting elements, you can also hear a traditional sounds. I think this song offers great potential to create great staging because it’s pretty clear that Israel will aim for victory. I expect a spectacle on the stage and I think that Israel will sail into the finals without any difficulty.
Israel will definitely dominate the audience votes and I think it can be in the top 5. I don’t think it will win because this is not a winning song, but it will definitely have a lot of points. I don’t think the success of 2018 will be repeated, but a success like Chanel’s last year with the song Slomo could happen.
My rating for the song Unicorn is 8.5/10.
