Just when we thought that nothing could surprise us anymore at Eurovision, suddenly Croatian representatives appeared with an even more unusual song.
Croatia is represented this year by one of the most successful rock bands from the Balkans. Let 3 is a band that has been active on the music scene for more than 30 years. They attract attention wherever they appear because of their unique appearance, intelligent performances, and even better and better quality music.
The song Mama ŠČ is primarily an anti-war song that satirically condemns dictators who scare the world with war and nuclear weapons. A very intelligently written rock opera. A song that brings chaos, fun, love, and a message to the whole world.
Many fans reacted very negatively to this song, talking about musical tastelessness, parody, and other things. Tastes differ, but I am happy that this band has received so much support and that most people are euphorically waiting for their performance in Liverpool.
As soon as I saw the performance in the national final, I was completely blown away and immediately said that this song has to go to Liverpool. I am glad that Croatia decided to take a risk and offered something new and different.
If classic pop songs fail to reach the finals, then rock operas have a much better chance. Croatia has not entered the finals for 6 long years and it is time to end that black streak finally. I am convinced that the audience will be delighted and shocked with Mama ŠČ and that they will certainly support it with their points.
I see Croatia in the final and hope for as much success as possible. My rating for the song Mama ŠČ is 9/10.
