I was very pleased with the news that Montenegro is returning to Eurovision, I believe they can show a lot to Europe. I’ve been following their music scene for a while now and I can say with certainty that they have a lot of talented singers who could seriously compete at Eurovision.
This year’s representative of Montenegro is Vladana with the song Breathe. Vladana is the right choice for Montenegro’s strong return to the Eurovision stage. The song Breathe is a classic Balkan ballad, but one of the better ballads from that area. Vladana has chosen a song dedicated to all of us who have found ourselves in difficult times caused by the global pandemic.
The perfect song for the hard times that have befallen us in the past two years and that are still going on. That’s why this song is so special in my opinion and deserves maximum attention. The beginning of the song is a real movie moment that slowly introduces us to a story full of strong emotions. The lyrics are really beautiful. Vladana sounds brilliant at every moment of the song, especially towards the end of the song which provokes goosebumps.
We don’t even have that many ballads this year, which is why I don’t think this song will merge with the masses. At this point, I would say that this is the best song from the Balkans this year that will surely reach a large audience because many can be found in it. An emotional and powerful song, for me the best that Montenegro has ever chosen as a representative of its country.
This is the best possible return of Montenegro, and I hope that from now on it will only go uphill. Montenegro is in the second semifinal group where there are a lot of songs that have a real chance to get to the finals, but I think that the song Breathe definitely deserves its place in the finals. I believe that Vladana will give her best in Turin and I would really like her to make it to the finals. I think this song is a candidate to achieve the best result that Montenegro has ever achieved at Eurovision. My rating for the song Breathe is 8/10.
