For almost 10 years in a row, Sweden has regularly entered the group of the main favorites for the Eurovision victory, in 2012 and 2015 they succeeded. And 2022 is no exception, Sweden is again a big favorite to win. What I want to emphasize is that finally after 7 years the female singer will represent Sweden because, to be honest, I am bored of guys with typical pop songs.
This year Sweden is represented by Cornelia Jakobs with the song Hold Me Closer. Cornelia has a very beautiful voice, like Bonnie Tyler in her greatest days of fame. Although I say that Sweden is very overrated every year, this time I really think that after 2015, the song Hold Me Closer deserves to be the favorite to win.
But on the other hand, I think that this song, performed by a representative of another country, probably wouldn’t get as much attention. Regardless, after listening to this song for a long time, I concluded that I really like it. Hold Me Closer provokes goosebumps and strong emotions. An ideally composed song that has The moment, x-factor, has everything a winning song has to have.
So I consider her one of the favorites to win. Sweden will undoubtedly make it to the finals, as I think they will probably win the jury in the final. It may not be my number one winner, but even if it wins, it will be deserved. But since Sweden is winning too much, I would still like another country on the throne XD.
Cornelia is the right choice this year, perfectly conveying the emotion of the song, a song that hits straight to the heart. I wish good luck to Cornelia. It would be fun for Sweden to take the win in Italy again, but we’ll see. My rating for the song Hold Me Closer is 10/10.
